Lenovo: Next Generation Server Systems

On December 02, 2014, the Chinese computer technology company, Lenovo Group Ltd., announced their new innovative next generation servers. Under the ThinkServer System product line, the new 1U ThinkServer RD 350 and 2U ThinkServer RD450 are specifically designed for small to medium sized businesses. These two new servers feature a new space optimized tray and chassis design to give customers the ability to add additional storage density and I/O Capability.

With a standard 1U and 2U form factors, both the RD350 and RD450 are fitted with up to two 12-core Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 series processors. Configurations of the servers can be up to 512 GB of DDR4 memory due to the availability of 16 DIMM slots. Other standard features include ECC memory, integrated RAID, hot-swappable HDD and SSD capability, and hot-swappable redundant power and cooling.
